School of Communication Arts: (BUCA)


Founded in 1971, BUCA is the first school of communication arts at a Thai private university. Since then, the School of Communication Arts (BUCA) at Bangkok University has developed a strong reputation for turning out graduates with industry ready professional skills in media and communications. BUCA provides students with fully-equipped facilities and quality professional instruction that enriches student learning experiences beyond a typical classroom. As the biggest School at Bangkok University, over 9,000 students benefit from state of the art BUCA complex which houses photography laboratories, a Media Production Center, a Computer Graphic Zone, journalism laboratories, performing arts studios, and Center for Cinematic and Digital Arts, our latest one-stop digital workflow complex. BUCA curriculum is regularly revised and approved by The Qualifications Framework for Thailand’s higher education. As of 2013, the School consists of 7 departments: Public Relations, Journalism, Advertising, Performing Arts, Radio and Television Broadcasting, Film, and Brand Communication. In 2015, the Film department spins off as School of Digital Media and Cinematic Arts.Undergraduate courses are offered at Rangsit Campus (Patum Thani Province) located about approximately 40 kilometers, while post-graduate courses are offered at the City Campus.
